Nurse Ambassador Team
Meet the Debriefing the Front Lines
15 nurses. 9 states. 1 mission. Our founding Nurse Ambassadors help their peers talk about mental health with care and confidence, and make support a normal part of nursing culture. Caring for nurses means caring for the future health of our community.
About the Nurse Ambassador Program
We receive hundreds of emails each year from nurses sharing their stories and asking, "How can I help?"
The Nurse Ambassador Program is our answer. It's for nurses who believe their peers deserve support and want to make debriefing a natural, accessible part of nursing culture.
Our ambassadors carry that work into their units, departments, teams and communities helping normalize the use of mental health resources for nurses everywhere.
What Ambassadors Do
Stay visible. Share resources, amplify the mission and grow together.
From debriefing sessions, sobriety support and tools for well-becoming, ambassadors keep support visible by sharing resources online and in-person.
02 Support
Ambassadors check in with colleagues and help them find the next step.
03 Show up
Through our Care Response Deliveries, ambassadors bring care straight to nursing units, departments and clinics within their communities.
04 Rally
Bring their communities into the mission: fundraising for our Debriefing Scholarship Program, sharing DTFL at conferences and events, and connecting local hospitals and nursing organizations with debriefing support
Meet the Ambassador Team
Crystal Gower
MSN, RN, NC-BC | Idaho Crystal is a registered nurse and board-certified nurse coach with more than 23 years of experience across healthcare, including respiratory therapy, medical-surgical nursing, pediatric and neonatal intensive care, emergency care, flight nursing, infusion, education, and nurse coaching. Her own health journey and experiences with professional trauma and adversity in nursing inspired a deeply personal commitment to supporting those who care for others. Crystal pursued board certification in nurse coaching to develop the skills to walk alongside nurses as they navigate difficult experiences, reconnect with themselves, and discover their own paths toward resilience and wholeness.
As an ambassador for Debriefing the Front Lines, Inc., Crystal hopes to help normalize seeking support, raise awareness of debriefing resources, and foster a culture where nurses feel heard, valued, and less alone. She believes connection is essential and that nurses deserve the same compassion and care they so generously give to others.
Faye Esquivel
RN, NC-BC | FloridaFaye is a Board-Certified Nurse Coach and a Registered Nurse in the Operating Room with over 14 years of experience. She is passionate about creating safe, intentional spaces where nurses feel seen, heard, and supported. She believes every nurse deserves the opportunity to process their experiences, reconnect with who they are beyond their professional role, and rediscover what matters most to them. She recognizes that those who dedicate their lives to caring for others deserve that same care and compassion. Through meaningful connection and intentionality, she fosters healing, personal growth, and renewed strength, so nurses can continue making a difference without losing sight of their own well-being. Outside of her work, Faye and her husband are learning to navigate and embrace the joys, adventures, and ever-changing rhythms of a new season of life as their children all enter adulthood. In the quieter moments, Faye treasures curling up with her favorite blanket and a good audiobook.
Izzy Sanchez
RN | California Izzy graduated as an RN Spring of 2020, straight into the ED as the pandemic was rising. She worked ED up until summer 2026 and is currently working Urgent Care clinic. She has worked in multiple departments throughout the years; Med-Surg, Long Term Care/SNF, Post Partum and Ski Clinics. Caring for nurses matters to Izzy because she knows through her own personal experience how much it means to prioritize care for oneself, when you are always needed in every other aspect of life (work, family, children, etc). She believes that when we support other nurses, it helps create a positive culture where other nurses feel empowered to advocate for their own self-care needs. When Izzy isn't in scrubs, you can find her at the park/beach with her kiddos, hiking trails through the forest, paddle boarding through Lake Tahoe, swinging kettlebells at the gym, or snowboarding down the Sierra Mountains.
Jamie Kuhn
Jaime brings 25 years of pediatric nursing across critical care, clinical education and nursing leadership. A Texas Christian University Evidence-Based Practice Fellow and RYT-200 yoga teacher, she integrates mindfulness, yoga and meditation into nurse well-being through her work as The Yoga Nurse. Outside the hospital, you can find Mindy planning her inevitable "next trip," crocheting, snuggling her kitten, lying in the woods or grass, hanging with her sisters or boyfriend, or taking beautiful photos, probably while sipping her favorite tea or a coffee from a local cafe.

She strives to integrate wellness principles into her teaching, helping students build the skills needed for a successful and sustainable transition into professional practice.

PhD, RN | Pennsylvania
Randa Smith
Randa is currently working as a medical-surgical nurse. She is passionate about advocacy and nursing education. She believes nurses deserve more than to clock in and out and be told to "practice more self-care"; they deserve non-judgmental spaces to process experiences, feel supported, enjoy life, and be themselves. Debriefing the Front Lines has been part of her personal journey, and she is truly grateful for their support. Outside of nursing, she enjoys spending time with her partner and their two adorable beagles, running, crafting, and volunteering with a pregnancy-loss nonprofit. Our Moonshot
A Care Response Team in every city. A chapter in every state. That’s our five-year goal, and it starts in Texas.
Led by nurses who once stood exactly where you're standing now.
This founding team is where it begins. Led by nurses building toward a future where debriefing doesn’t need explaining.
It’s integrated normal, expected and everywhere.
A Care Revolution
We started this work in March 2020 because nurses needed someone to show up for them. We’re overwhelmed with gratitude as so many of you have reached out wanting to help bring that support forward. You can still help lead the care revolution.
Here are four ways to be part of it today.
1. Care your yourself: Recognize your commitment to service must include yourself, the greatest gift you can give humanity.
2. Share our resources: Pass along our free resource inside our library and share the breakroom flyer. Leaders, consider debriefing training for your unit, department or system.
3. Give this GivingTuesday: Our 6th annual campaign runs Nov 17 to Dec 1 and funds 100% of our Debriefing Scholarship Program. A $50 gift funds one session for a nurse on FMLA or facing financial hardship.
3. Shop our Amazon Wishlist: Send items straight to our team to in support of our Care Response Deliveries and the Texas Chapter events
